Had a blast running the Wasatch back Relay again.  Ran the same leg as last year (runner #2), but ran it much faster this year. 

My first leg was 6.8 miles. I started at 9:14 AM.  I ran it in 1:13:39. My splits are as follows:

Relay day 2.  Had a very difficult time sleeping. Probably got 1 1/2 - 2 hours of sleep at the most.  Started my last leg at 5:33 AM. It was about 3.3 miles long. My legs did not want to move, and at times I felt like I was going to fall asleep running.  I pushed through it and finished in 36:51. My splits are as follows.

When we got home we fed the kids dinner and put them to bed. Thankfully the kids were tired to and went to bed without much fuss. We were all asleep by 8:30 PM.

After the relay my left foot has been really sore. I think I may have pulled the plantar tendon in that foot so I took a couple days off to recover.  It didn't feel to bad today, but every once in awhile I'd get a sharp pain in the 5th metatarsal area. Any ideas about what might cause that?

total time 1:11:13 average pace 13:04.  What a crappy workout!  I knew I wasn't going to get in my scheduled amount of miles which was 11 miles, but I was hoping to get in at least 8.  Oh well it was lucky I got any miles in today.  We got home from Cedar City around 3:30-4:00, got unpacked and took the kids swimming until 6:00.  We ate Cheese sandwiches and milk for dinner (not a meal conducive to running) at around 7:00.  And of course we didn't eat great as we traveled either.  Any way I finally got out the door to go running around 8:45.  When I got about 3.5 miles into my run my stomach was killing me, so I decided to start heading home. When I reach just over 4.5 miles I just couldn't run any more and walked the last mile.

Overall I think I did pretty good on this race.  I came in one minute slower than last year, but that is because last year I didn't have to take a pit stop and this year I had to wait in line for 8 minutes. So if you take that 8 minutes off I actually ran it in 2:28:48.3 which is about 7 minutes faster than last year.

Those porta potty stops can do a number on your race time! I would definitely call this a race a VERY BIG PR for you---CONGRATULATIONS! And toughing it out at the end is the hardest part, falling over would be so much easier.
